WORKING WITH PAUL
Paul handled the business/financial end of the films so I could focus on the creative aspect of the films. Paul wanted to do a film addressing the stalking issue, so he helped write EVERY MOVE YOU MAKE. (Which is my most popular title on Vimeo-On-Demand) He also wanted a film about computer fraud, so my first feature documentary- THE MAKE BELIEVERS, which focuses on computer fraud came about. Making these films, I developed my own "stock company", artists like actors Frank Franconeri, Shawna Bermender, Rosemary Gore, Ashley Wren Collins, Pat Bishow, Greg Dashkin, Mike Gadinis and Richie Cutler. On the technical end, I often worked with Vernon Gravdal (camera/editing) Nicholas D. Kent (music/visual effects) and Dylan Skolnick (story input).
DOCUMENTARIES AND FILM HISTORY
Paul suffered a serious stroke in 2012, which forced his retirement. I made my next two documentaries on my own- LOST EMULSION in 2016, and THE WENDY WILD STORY in 2017. I also started giving lectures on various aspects of film history at many New York venues, and still do. I aim to make these talks to be more than just a check list of red letter dates in an actors or directors career. I focus on what aspects of these films embraced audiences when first released, and how they still reach out to modern audiences.
THE FUTURE
As of this writing, I just turned 60. I am looking to make the next decades productive as all get out. I started with a silent Regular 8mm home movie camera in 1972, moved up to 16mm, then to video tape, then to digital video, to 4K, and to computerized video enhancement. Decades of building my craft with all sorts of tools. I look forward to working with new tools, I have numerous ideas yet to be filmed, narrative features, and documentaries.
