LONG ISLAND JOINS THE SPACE RACE is a feature length documentary about the Long Island based engineers who achieved what we dreamed for centuries- sending men to the moon and safely bring them back. This new film celebrates and documents the engineers craftwork, the bravery of the astronauts, and how this incredible event healed the chaotic world of 1969. My father. Alexis Andreiev (1925-2006)was one of the Lunar Module engineers. Check out the film's trailer to the left.

As of March 2023, we have interviewed Grumman engineers who worked on the Lunar Module over 50 years ago. We have also interviewed people at The Cradle of Aviation Museum, The Heckscher Museum of Art and The Piano Exchange (Some Lunar Module technology was born from player piano technology) Grumman has supplied us with amazing historic footage of the Lunar Module assembly. We also gathered stories by people who remember the moon landing, including an amusing story from Stanley Kubrick's daughter.
